Course: American History 4301
Teachers: Mr. Slonim Grade Level: 10th Credit: 1 unit
Course Description:
The 10th grade class is a traditional study of American History. The class follows a chronological survey of America from 1877 to the present. Emphasis will be placed on 20th Century American History. Major policies, ideals, events, issues, and trends will be studied, discussed, and analyzed for their impact on contemporary society.

2. Urbanization
3. Imperialism
4. The Twenties
5. The Great Depression
6. The New Deal
7. World War II
8. The Cold War
9. New Frontier & Great Society
10. Civil Rights Movement
11. The Vietnam Era
12. The Development & Challenges of America In a Global Community
Required Texts:
The Americans published by McDougal Littell 2004
In addition, students will be exposed to a variety of primary source documents as well as an assortment of articles dealing with different curricular topics.

Evaluation/Method of Grading:
Grades will be determined quarterly based upon each student's contribution to the work of this class.
