Teacher's Expectations of Students

Respect & Responsibility

This includes:

• Be in class on time
• Have necessary materials for class
• Always respect everyone in the class
• Participate in class activities.  (ask questions, answer questions etc.)
• Complete assignments on time (or early!)
• Make up tests promptly after missing them (according to school policy)
• Helping others whenever possible

Students' Expectations of the Teacher

I will 

• not allow you to "hide" in class and avoid participating.  I will call on you....and call on you.....and....

• provide opportunities for class discussions

• listen to you

• provide opportunities for you to develop your writing skills

• provide opportunities for you to use the computer

• not usually give extra credit assignments as I build extra credit points into my tests

• not curve in my grading

• not usually look up your grade in the computer because you can do it as easily as I can

• expect you to get assignments ahead of time when you know you will be absent

• follow the school policy on makeup work

• expect you to check the website, ask a classmate, or ask me what you missed when you return from being absent 

• try to be creative in my assignments

• try to make class as fun as possible

• let you choose your seat location in class as long as it doesn't interfere with the educational experience of the class (in my opinion)

• start class each day asking a question from the Jeopardy calendar

• allow you to eat & drink in class as long as there is no mess and it does not interrupt class in my judgment

• correct tests as fast as I can

• be glad to help you if you want/need extra help

• always have Kleenex available

• be your teacher and your friend
